Leaving Georgetown, we took a three hour ferry up to Langkawi Island. The two islands were very different from each other; Georgetown was very curlural where Langkawi was a touristy resort island. Unlike Georgetown, the touristy island isn’t known for their food so we went grocery shopping to save money. Luckily our room in the “resort” had a fridge and a hot water kettle. Continue reading

Biking and Hiking through Georgetown, Malaysia
After an overnight bus ride from Singapore, we arrived at the Penang bus station before sunrise and were ambushed by multiple cabbies. We were actually the only two left on the bus and they even boarded the bus to try to be the first to snag us. We fought through the crowd and picked the most respectable looking cabbie to head to the guesthouse. It was only 7:30 when we arrived but thankfully they let us check in early and we spent most of the morning organizing and researching what to do in Georgetown. Continue reading
Monkeys and Caves in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
After a virtually empty and an uneventful Air Malaysia flight, we arrived in the tropics! Our next flight is not until the middle of March leaving out of Vietnam (which will be the longest we have gone without flying in the past 4 years).
